NOV 5, 2026 SWITCH 2 PREORDER

Expected unlock. November 5, 2026 if this clock cannot run.

Nintendo has published the day, November 5, 2026, and has not published a game-specific hour. VICE and GameRant both describe Nintendo’s usual eShop pattern: 9:00 PM Pacific on November 4, which is midnight Eastern on November 5. Other regions are listed at local midnight. I label every hour on this page as expected.

The account country, not the device clock

GameRant notes that the eShop unlock follows the country on the Nintendo account, not the timezone set on the console. A New Zealand account can unlock earlier, and it needs a local payment method. I am not recommending an account-region change. I am recording why two people in the same room can see different hours.

Midnight shop events

Nintendo New York lists an official midnight event on November 5 from 12:00 AM to 2:00 AM, with a Warp Pipe Pass reservation, a one-copy limit, and a gift with purchase. Notebookcheck reports at least one Best Buy opening at midnight Eastern. PNP Games lists three Canadian stores at 12:01 AM. A Canadian chain roundup from 4Scarrs is a single write-up, so I do not treat every chain on that list as confirmed. GameRant reports that Micromania in France cancelled its midnight events. I found no sourced Japanese shop midnight event, so that cell stays empty.

The countdown uses these same regional targets and lets you switch region. The calendar date itself is on the release date page.

Does Japan unlock at midnight?

The expected digital time is 12:00 AM JST on November 5. A Japanese shop midnight event is not in the sources I used.
