Ocarina of Time

Where to go next

Choose the date page for the November 5 street date, or the release-time page for the expected unlock in your eShop region. Digital preloading downloads the game ahead of time; it does not provide early access. Physical pickup depends on the retailer and its opening hours.

• Full release date breakdown — November 5, 2026, plus the 1998 and 2011 dates.
• Release time in your timezone — expected unlocks, labelled as expected.
• Live countdown — days, hours, minutes, and seconds.
• Is it out yet? — not on November 3, 2026.
• Preorder prices and bonuses — foil sleeve and wallpaper cutoff.
• Switch 2 exclusive — what the store page actually lists.

Which version people mean

A search for the release often mixes four different products. The 2026 game is the new Switch 2 version. The 1998 original is on Nintendo 64 and, since October 25, 2021, in the Nintendo 64 Nintendo Classics library. The 2011 3DS version was built by Grezzo. I keep those dates on separate pages so a 1998 fact is not presented as a 2026 fact.

Choose a copy for your console

If you own an original Switch, the Expansion Pack route gives you the 1998 N64 game. Buying the new Switch 2 edition does not make it compatible with that older console. If you own Switch 2, compare the digital and physical editions before ordering: the US list-price difference is $10, the first physical run has foil cover art while supplies last, and digital buyers can preload.

The themed 40th anniversary Switch 2 hardware is sold separately from the game. Check the edition guide before treating a console listing as a game bundle. For storage, use the size stated by your regional eShop and keep the installation warning in mind. The 27 GB US estimate, 24.5 GB European listing and reported 24.54 GB preload describe different published readings.

What the store page confirms

Nintendo’s US product page and the 40th anniversary announcement agree on November 5, 2026 and on a Switch 2 exclusive release. The US page lists ESRB E10+ and 16 languages. The Spanish page lists PEGI 12, 12 languages, and a 24.5 GB size. I do not collapse the file-size readings into one number. Master Quest, a deluxe edition, and a Switch 1 edition are not on the product page.
