What changed in the 2026 remake?

Nintendo and the producers call the 2026 game a full remake built from the ground up. The story order, dungeon order, and boss structure stay close to 1998. The camera, the jump button, the voice acting, and Castle Town do not. It is not a remaster of the old geometry.

Remake, not remaster

Ask the Developer volume 24 describes a ground-up remake. Geometry, lighting, the interface, the camera, and the cutscenes are new work. Wikipedia notes that some areas still use loading screens so the original pacing stays. Nintendo Life’s preview confirms load-free doors inside Hyrule Castle Town specifically. I do not extend that sentence to the whole of Hyrule.
